My first rating (from my new school) on ratemyteachers.com:

she is one of the best english teachers! she has a very methodical approach to note taking and reading. It’s really different than any other english teacher. Besides that, she’s been extremely helpful with essays and she really considers different opinons/analyses of the book. she doesn’t just write them off like some teachers have a tendancy to do. She also dresses really cute. :)

I’ve been half-joking about how my now teaching at a good high school with lots of nerdy kids is really just a Never-Been-Kissed-esque opportunity to redo my high school years as the most important and well-liked person in the room. Not joking anymore!

Important Question #3: Media

At present our contact with the world outside and source of music is the combination flashlight/radio/siren. It gets the wonderful Grand Marais public station that is NOT a part of the dreaded Minnesota Public Radio (Mordor Public Radio). It has very homey and often excellent programming. It also gives a great deal of attention to the weather in Grand Marais, Hovland, Devil Track, Hungry Jack, Cascade, Castle Danger, Poplar Lake, and my favorite, “up the Trail.” Each locale gets its own report and since they are within miles of each other, there is some repetition. And on Saturday evening, there is a two-hour call in with answers to trivia questions show. Not to be missed. Do you have ideas for media for Thanksgiving, to supplement, certainly not replace, my flashlight?

Just try and keep up with the Hasidic moms’ walking pace on the bridge. I have a stitch!
